The spaces listed below are available to rent by the hour or the day for classes, meetings, functions and events. General rental information is contained in the paragraphs below. The Conference Room
The Historic Y Conference Room, located on the first floor between the main building lobby on 5th Avenue and the Courtyard off University Blvd., is a beautiful 500+ sq. ft. room featuring high ceilings, original 1930's moldings and detailing, large east-facing windows and a hardwood floor. It is available to rent by the hour on an occasional or recurring basis. It can be variously configured and can accommodate either conference table seating for 12-16 or classroom seating for 30-35. Additional amenities include a wall-mounted projection screen, central air conditioning and heating, and adjacent restrooms. A number of organizations and various building tenants hold their board meetings here. The Liberal Catholic Church holds services in here Sunday mornings at 10:00 and The Bennett Theatre Lab holds Acting Workshops Monday evenings at 6:30. The Conference Room and other adjoining areas are handicapped accessible.
The Conference Room is available to rent for non-profit and arts, education and environmentally related events (including use as a conference, meeting or classroom) for $50 for up to the first 3 hours plus $15 for each additional hour or for private and for profit events (including private receptions and parties) for $80 for up to the first 3 hours plus $20 for each additional hour. Reduced rates may be available for recurring use by non-profit and arts-related organizations. Other fees may apply. See below for additional pricing information.
The Courtyard
The Historic Y Courtyard is located off University Boulevard, with the Tucson Audubon Society and Nature Shop to the west and The Rogue Theatre to the east. Sheltered from the street by the stately and colorful edifices and arcades of The Historic Y, his wonderful urban retreat is paved with flagstone, is comfortably shaded by citrus and palo verde trees, and features beautifully tiled patio tables, benches and planters. Tucson CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) holds its produce pick-ups in the Courtyard twice a week in the late afternoons and early evenings and The Rogue Theatre and ZUZI's Theater use the Courtyard before shows and during intermissions. The Historic Y Courtyard and Lobby is also the location for the annual Gathering of The Greens held each December and hosted by The Historic Y and many of Tucson's environmental organizations, many of which are located in the building. The Courtyard can be rented on an hourly basis and provides a beautiful outdoor urban setting for a wide range of gathering and events, including parties, receptions, ceremonies, dinners, and small concerts or performances. The Courtyard and other adjoining areas are handicapped accessible.
The Courtyard accommodates around 50-100 and can be rented for private and for-profit functions for $250 for up to the first 3 hours plus $50 for each additional hour. The rate for non-profit and arts, education and environmentally related events (including supervision) is $120 for the first hour and $40 for each additional hour. Other fees and discounts may apply. The Main Lobby
The Historic Y Main Lobby is accessed directly from 5th Avenue or down a hallway from the Courtyard. It is the main entrance for both The Historic Y office building and ZUZI's Theater and is the centerpiece for the entire complex and, as built as the main entrance to the original YWCA in 1930, its most architecturally resplendent interior space. The Main Lobby is where tenants of and visitors to The Historic Y often run into one another and catch up. ZUZI's Theater uses The Main Lobby as a ticket lobby, refreshment area and reception hall for its performances.
The Main Lobby is available to rent by the hour in the evenings or on the weekends for private receptions, gatherings and other events for $160 for up to the first 3 hours plus $40 for each additional hour. The rate for non-profit and arts, education and environmentally related events (including supervision) is $100 for the first hour and $35 for each additional hour. Other fees and discounts may apply. The Second Floor Lobby
The Second Floor Lobby, located directly above the main building lobby on 5th Avenue, is a beautiful 500+ sq. ft. room featuring one wall of mirrors, a piano, large east-facing windows and a hardwood floor. It is available to rent by the hour on an occasional or recurring basis during non-business hours for rehearsals, classes and meetings. It is or has been used for yoga, salsa, zumba fitness, bellydancing and rehearsal space for Reveille Men's Chorus. Current classes being offered include Yum Yum Stretch, Salsón Salsa Classes with Melissa and Peter, and Beginning Bellydance.
The Conference Room is available to rent for non-profit and arts, education and environmentally related events (including use as a dance or rehearsal space) for $50 for up to the first 3 hours plus $15 for each additional hour or for private and for profit events (including private receptions and parties) for $80 for up to the first 3 hours plus $20 for each additional hour. Fee Schedule for Private and For-Profit Events
If renting more than one space, fees for highest priced space are as shown and up to three additional contiguous spaces may be added for a fee of 50% of the space rental fee of the next highest priced space.
Space rental fees and deposit are waived for members of The Historic Y Community, including sublettors of ZUZI! Theater if rental is in conjunction with rental of Theater. Required supervision and other fees are as shown.
In addition to the above fees, it is renter's responsibility to obtain and pay separately for required liability insurance (as well as liquor liability insurance if applicable).
Liability insurance requirement may be waived only under certain circumstances.
ZUZI Theater and Dance Studios
In addition to the spaces described above, ZUZI! Inc., also located in The Historic Y, offers spaces to rent by the hour or the day. For more information, please click here or call 520.629.0237.
ZUZI! Theater is perfectly suited to accommodate classes, rehearsals, workshops and performances. Its large size and many features make it a wonderful and versatile classroom and rehearsal space. Features include a 1280 sq. ft. stage, 135 tiered seats, built-in professional sound system and 36-channel dimmer pack lighting, use of The Historic Y Main Lobby for audience entrance and ticket booth, and use of East studio for green room.
ZUZI!'s East Studio features plenty of natural light and high ceilings and is well adapted for large classes and group rehearsals. The East Studio is 720 sq. ft. and features has the longest stretch of mirrors at ZUZI!
ZUZI!'s West Studio is a cozy, intimate 600 sq. ft. studio space perfect for individual rehearsals or small classes. Painted in cheerful, relaxing colors, the west studio is a delightful space for classes, meetings or rehearsals.
All three ZUZI! Spaces feature suspended wood floors with Marley coating.
